It is essential to be proactive; if there will be a delay in delivery for example, the consumer will be more forgiving if the retailer notifies them in advance. Reports can be scheduled or generated on-demand and significant analysis and logic is needed when calculating the On-Time Performance, interpreting status messages, determining if a customer needs to be alerted, crafting a customer-friendly message, and finally determining root cause to assess if broader actions must be taken.

The modern consumer wants to know where their package is at all times. They also want to dictate how a retailer will communicate with them. ScanData not only captures and stores all events, it notifies customers based on rules provided by the retailer. ScanData can support both internal and carrier-generated status updates/alerts.

- Integrating the shipping details/status information into shipper's customer service applications
- Communication via text, Facebook Messenger, the retailer's website, email, auto-dialer, or mobile apps
